Thalia has been involved in health promotion on a global scale with particular attention to education, ethics, and policy. She has worked in Mexico and Ghana focusing on maternal and child healthcare and on a variety of projects with the Mexican Ministry of Health including outreach, analysis and education during the Mexican Swine Flu outbreak and health policy regarding chronic disease prevention. For one project, she collaborated with officials from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to improve health care access for Mexican migrants in the U.S. She has also interned at the World Health Organization. At Harvard, Thalia continues to focus on global health and is obtaining her Ph.D. in Health Policy with a focus on ethics.
