Lecture and Performance Thurs., Feb 9, in conjunction with the Pratt exhibition “Nectar: War upon the Bees”

On Thursday February 9th, starting at 6 PM, the Pratt Manhattan Gallery is hosting “Nectar: War upon the Bees”, an exhibition that draws art and science together to highlight how the mortality rate of pollinators is “a consequence of the faster-bigger-cheaper approach to food production that is steadily draining our planet’s resources.”

The event will begin with a guest lecture from  Dr. Rachael Winfree—who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources at Rutgers University, New Brunswick—and will be followed by an Eco-Political Cabaret (starting at 7:30 PM) that includes spoken word, song, ritual, and satire.

This exhibition is free and open to the public, and will continue through February 11th. For more information, visit www.pratt.edu/exhibitions or see this brochure about the event.
