Peer Health Advocates Applications Due Sept 6

Student Health Services is  now accepting applications for the Peer Health Advocate program.  PApplications are here and are due September 6; decisions made by September 12.

The New You is The New School’s Peer Health Advocacy (PHA) program, advised by Wellness and Health Promotion (WHP) staff. We are looking for student leaders with a passion for health to develop programs and services for their fellow students. PHAs may facilitate interactive health promotion programs in classes, residence halls, public spaces, and online; develop promotional materials and Web-based applications related to health; or help organize on campus on issues such as sexual health, prevention of violence, LGBTQIAGNC wellness and social justice advocacy. Students have opportunities for training in health-related areas of particular interest.

All applicants must be available for an offsite retreat from Friday, September 23rd through Sunday, September 25th, 2016.

Once trained, PHAs are eligible to receive a stipend for up to 20 hours of health-related work per semester.
