The Scientista Symposium

The Scientista Symposium is a three-day conference that empowers pre-professional women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The Symposium, which is being hosted by Microsoft in their NYC office, will bring together approximately 300 undergraduate and graduate women from across the country. Our programming, themed “Let’s Get Digital: the importance of technology across STEM fields” will cover a range of topics from digital health and biotechnology to big data, basic research, and programming. Students will gain valuable skills and networking opportunities through our recruiting fair, Poster Fair, Web/App Expo, workshops, inspirational talks and panels, and ample opportunities for students and professionals to network.

Date: Fri. October 16 – Sun. October 18, 2015

Location: New York City

What makes the Scientista Symposium truly unique is its national platform for women in STEM to present their original research and apps / websites to a national audience of peers and judges. The process of presenting one’s work on a national forum is an invaluable opportunity that can help develop important communication skills. We encourage female students currently involved in research to apply to participate in the Student Poster Fair and App/Website Expo Hall. Participants whose research or apps / websites are selected will be able to present their work at the Scientista Symposium and compete for scholarship prizes. Students may apply through the Scientista Symposium website (
